Job description
Role Overview
As a Trading Card Specialist & Administrator, you will spearhead the development and success of the trading card segment in Singapore by securing consignments, expanding the local market, and connecting key buyers and sellers for auctions. Additionally, you will provide essential cataloguing and administrative services that support vendors and buyers before and after sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively source and secure consignments by building and utilizing a wide network of consignors, collectors, and dealers across Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.
- Serve as the local representative for the trading card category by attending fairs, events, and major exhibitions to foster market growth.
- Identify and cultivate long-term relationships with pivotal buyers and sellers to encourage bidding activity and repeat consignments.
- Stay informed about current trends and market valuations within the trading card industry.
- Accurately catalogue consigned items, ensuring detailed and consistent descriptions, condition notes, and estimates that meet company standards.
- Deliver comprehensive administrative assistance to vendors and buyers, handling consignment paperwork, communications, settlements, and shipping queries around auction periods.
- Manage and update the customer database, including preference updates, merging records, and upkeep.
- Collaborate with the broader Entertainment team based in London to align efforts.
- Provide backup and assistance for all administrative tasks as required by management.
- Perform any additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Candidate Profile
- Driven by commercial success and self-motivation, with a genuine enthusiasm for trading cards and collectibles.
- Possess meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication capabilities to proactively pursue consignments and contribute to successful auctions and sales.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in the trading card market involving buying, selling, valuing, or consigning trading cards or similar collectibles is essential.
- An established network of collectors, dealers, and consignors in Singapore and/or the Asia Pacific region is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of industry-standard grading practices.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Competent in computer use with familiarity in basic software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
Additional Information
This position is based in the newly opened Singapore office. Only applicants with existing legal rights to work in Singapore will be considered, as visa sponsorship or assistance for work visa applications cannot be provided.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive annual salary of SGD 72,000.
