Job description
Role Overview
As a Trade Operator specialising in lights cargoes, you will oversee the full operational process of trade execution, from booking contracts to settling demurrage. This involves close collaboration with traders, chartering agents, and finance teams to ensure smooth, prompt, and accurate trade transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all post-trade activities for light cargo shipments, including verifying contracts, reviewing letters of credit and related documents, and calculating laytime and demurrage charges.
- Coordinate with traders, brokers, shipowners, and terminal operators on vessel nominations, schedules for loading and discharging, and related cargo paperwork.
- Track and reconcile trade positions, and ensure timely billing and settlement of trade transactions.
- Collaborate with credit, legal, and financial departments to address any issues or discrepancies in contracts or documentation.
- Keep precise and up-to-date data within the trading and Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum two years' hands-on experience in trade operations related to refined petroleum products or light distillate trading.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Incoterms and the processes of laytime and demurrage calculation.
- Familiarity with ETRM systems for trade data management.
