Trade Operations Analyst

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Trade Operations Analyst to join the Global Middle Office Trade Operations team at a leading financial services firm in Galway. This permanent position involves overseeing trade confirmation and settlement activities across Equity, Fixed Income, and FX trading desks, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily trade confirmation and settlement processes, generate reports, and respond to inquiries for Equity, Fixed Income, and FX desks promptly and accurately.
• Monitor transaction confirmations, address settlement fails, manage escrow activities, and ensure smooth settlement procedures.
• Execute market-specific procedures to facilitate confirmation and settlement in challenging foreign markets.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex operational issues and risks, escalating critical matters when necessary.
• Maintain effective communication with internal trading desks (Equity and FX), brokers, custodian banks, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot operational challenges.
• Proactively address and prevent problems by developing robust action plans for daily operational concerns.
• Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert in project initiatives.
• Collaborate with Managers and Team Leads to identify and implement process enhancements.
• Work collaboratively within a team to manage transaction volumes while adhering to quality standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to Custody Operations or Trade/Fixed Income Life Cycle management.
• At least 2 years’ experience handling Trade Life Cycle activities, Settlements, or Fails Management.
• Comprehensive understanding of market settlement practices and operational FX settlement procedures.
• Familiarity with systems such as OMGEO Alert, CTM, CLS, and Finastra is advantageous.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong time management, and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of agile frameworks and methodologies.
