Job description
Overview
Wesco in Wellington seeks a dynamic, proactive Trade Counter Sales & Office Manager to join the local team. This role centers on delivering excellent customer interactions, maintaining smooth branch operations, and managing a professional environment that supports both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers efficiently in-person, over email, and phone by offering sales and service support.
- Create accurate quotations assisting the Account Management team; ensure precision in data entry, invoicing, and issuance of packing slips.
- Oversee warehouse tasks including picking, packing, invoicing, dispatching orders, unloading stock, restocking shelves, coordinating transport, and aiding in product assembly.
- Manage stock control activities such as stocktakes, local purchasing, supplier coordination, handling faults, credits, and returns; report directly to the Logistics Manager on these functions.
- Maintain a tidy, well-stocked, and professionally presented warehouse, showroom, office, customer areas, and shared facilities; arrange cleaning services as needed.
- Be responsible for proper opening, closing, and securing of the branch, distributing duties within the team as necessary.
- Promote a positive office atmosphere by organizing weekly meetings, catch-ups, and toolbox talks.
- Support local company initiatives including event and training setups; ensure trade counter demo screens function properly and display content effectively.
Candidate Profile
- Practical experience in trade counter sales, customer service, branch operations, warehousing, or similar hands-on roles.
- Excellent communication skills with customers via face-to-face, phone, and email channels.
- Organized and practical mindset capable of balancing customer service, administrative tasks, and warehouse duties.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate processing of orders, invoices, credits, stock, and quotations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead, coordinate colleagues, and uphold a safe, clean, and professional branch setting.
- Team-oriented with flexibility to assist broadly across the branch as business priorities evolve.
