Role Overview
The Trade Assistant position is a part-time, on-site role located in Tauranga, within a busy trade-focused setting. This role centers on assisting customers at the trade counter by providing product guidance and accurate transaction processing. Responsibilities include stock management, merchandise replenishment, maintaining a tidy and safe trade environment, and preparing orders. The Trade Assistant will handle basic tools and collaborate closely with colleagues to achieve service quality and productivity objectives. Commitment to fostering a safe workplace and delivering exceptional customer experiences is essential.
Required Competencies and Qualifications
- Excellent customer service paired with strong communication skills to engage a diverse client base professionally.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively within teams and nurture positive workplace relationships.
- Hands-on familiarity with trading environments and knowledge of trade products or industrial supplies.
- Competence in safely operating power and hand tools, adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines.
- Basic numerical aptitude and computer literacy for managing point-of-sale systems, inventory tracking, and related administrative duties.
- Physical ability to work on-site in Tauranga including standing for prolonged periods and performing light manual tasks.
- Previous retail, trade, or warehouse experience is an asset but not mandatory.
