Job description

Position Summary

UGL's Regional Linx division manages the upkeep and operation of the New South Wales Country Regional Network (CRN). We are currently looking for experienced Track Maintainers to join our Routine Maintenance team located in Narrabri, NSW. This critical role involves ensuring the safety and upkeep of rail track infrastructure, often working throughout the broader NSW area on a 9-day fortnight schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled track inspections per the Technical Maintenance Plan.
  • Identify track defects and carry out necessary repair and maintenance tasks under superintendent direction.
  • Contribute to maintaining track safety and integrity across the network.

Candidate Profile

  • A team-focused, accountable individual with strong results orientation.
  • Excellent communication and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, organize and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to quickly learn new skills and technologies in a dynamic work environment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Possess national certifications and demonstrated background in Track Maintenance.
  • Track Examination competencies including Track Certifier certification.
  • Proficiency as a Protection Officer and Track Vehicle Operator (including Hi-rail Vehicle operation).
  • Experience in Rail Welding and Excavator Operation.
  • Current Railway Industry Worker (RIW) card and White Card.
  • Class C driver’s license required; HR license preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Work arranged on a 9-day fortnight schedule.
  • Competitive hourly wages starting from $34.81 to $44.69 based on qualifications and experience, plus additional overtime penalty rates.
