Overview

Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage planning applications including Local Authority and Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID), participate in pre-planning consultations, and respond to information requests and appeals.
- Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA), planning and environmental reports.
- Conduct reviews of Appropriate Assessments such as Screening Reports and Natura Impact Statements.
- Develop effective planning and development strategies tailored to infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with statutory and non-statutory organizations, local authorities, government agencies, and An Coimisiún Pleanála.
- Oversee sub-consultants and subcontractors engaged for surveys and specialist input.
- Provide expert planning advice to internal engineering teams and clients.
- Support environmental assessment projects through research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing tender submissions and cultivate strong client relationships, including attending client and design team meetings as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Full membership or progressing towards chartered status with professional bodies such as IPI or RTPI.
- In-depth knowledge of Irish planning law, policies, and guidelines.
- Strong report writing and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven success in achieving positive planning results for clients.
- Experience in strategizing planning and development for infrastructure projects.
- Competence in preparing and validating planning applications and reviewing technical drawings.
- Capability to interpret environmental data and reports.
- High attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a solution-oriented, pragmatic mindset.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and willing to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
