Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a practical and meticulous Torch Repair Technician to join our team at the Technical Competence Centre located in Milton Keynes. The primary focus of this position is to service, repair, and maintain Fronius welding torches and hose packs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues with customer-owned Fronius welding torches and hose packs.
- Service demonstration and rental equipment, preparing them fully for operational use.
- Evaluate customer equipment and prepare comprehensive repair assessments to assist with quotations and advice.
- Troubleshoot faults to identify root causes and deliver effective fixes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all repair, inspection, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock control, counting, and replenishment.
- Adhere to agreed repair schedules, promptly communicating any delays or deviations.
- Ensure the workshop environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within workshop and service operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in equipment repair, servicing, maintenance, or installation.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with a methodical problem-solving approach.
- Familiarity with manual electrode, TIG, and MIG/MAG welding processes is beneficial.
- Customer service-oriented with a dedication to delivering quality support.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in IT and digital reporting and record-keeping systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Keen to learn, expand skills, and engage in continuous technical training.
- Proficiency in English and/or an appropriate local language.
