Job description
Overview
The position of TIG Welder involves the execution of precise welding operations using Tungsten Inert Gas methodology on materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. This role demands careful attention to detail and stringent compliance with safety regulations to maintain the structural soundness and quality of welded elements.
Primary Duties
- Execute TIG welding tasks aligned with engineering drawings, specified details, and job instructions.
- Prepare welding apparatus by cleaning, grinding, and properly aligning metal components.
- Adjust welding parameters such as amperage, voltage, and the angle of the welding torch to ensure optimal weld quality.
- Examine welds to identify faults and undertake necessary rectifications.
- Ensure upkeep of welding machinery, gas cylinders, and related consumables.
- Work in partnership with engineering and fabrication personnel to fulfill project requirements.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures including the utilization of personal protective equipment and ensuring adequate ventilation.
- Maintain detailed records of welding processes and inspection results.
- Handle and store raw metal materials and finished products appropriately.
