Threading Machine Operator

Job Overview

This role involves operating TMT bar threading machines such as Linco, BST, and Lendis to ensure smooth production and manufacturing of high-quality threaded rebars that comply with project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently operate Linco, BST, and Lendis threading machines ensuring proper setup, alignment, and calibration before machine start-up.
• Safely perform bar loading, threading, and unloading tasks.
• Coordinate production planning and priorities with site engineers.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and upkeep of machines.
• Identify and resolve mechanical or operational issues promptly.
• Maintain lubrication, tool condition, and cleanliness of machines.
• Keep records of machine downtime and report major problems to the service team.
• Meet daily production targets with minimal wastage, ensuring optimal productivity and resource usage.
• Monitor tool wear and replace tools timely.
• Prepare daily production reports including quantities threaded, machine operating hours, downtime details, and materials used.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to management.
• Perform quality checks adhering to IS codes and project specifications focusing on thread accuracy, pitch, depth, surface finish, and fitting with couplers.
• Segregate rejected materials and maintain quality inspection records.
• Liaise with clients and site teams to coordinate steel availability and production plans to avoid project delays.
• Provide accurate production data for billing purposes.

Skills & Requirements

• Experience operating Linco, BST, and Lendis threading machines.
• Understanding of threading processes and rebar standards.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of quality inspection tools and standards.
• Ability to independently manage site activities.
• Strong reporting and documentation capabilities.

Educational Qualifications

Preferred candidates hold an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

Prior experience in TMT bar threading operations is essential.
