Therapy Associate (Speech Therapy)

About the Role

The Therapy Associate will work closely with speech therapists in the Institute of Mental Health, supporting various therapy-related tasks within their competence and training. The position involves assisting with preparation, implementation, and follow-up of therapy sessions, ensuring patient safety and adherence to hospital guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and prepare the therapy environment and clinical equipment before sessions; clean and maintain these resources post-use.
• Support patients before, during, and after therapy sessions.
• Assist in the execution of therapy exercises under speech therapist supervision.
• Help in training caregivers as necessary.
• Report patient progress on assigned therapy tasks to the primary speech therapist.
• Implement and maintain safety measures for patients.
• Follow infection control protocols thoroughly.
• Monitor and maintain therapy equipment and inventory.
• Comply with hospital and departmental policies and operational procedures.
• Perform other administrative duties assigned by the department or supervising therapist.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficient in English communication.
• Basic computer literacy and IT skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Holds a diploma qualification.
