About The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a globally recognized leader in cancer care, education, and research, partnering with the Institute of Cancer Research to form Europe's largest comprehensive cancer centre. The Chelsea site hosts a technologically advanced Radiotherapy department featuring four Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, a CyberKnife system, and a Brachytherapy Suite, along with a Siemens Confidence CT scanner supporting multi-modality imaging for treatment planning.
Role Opportunity
This position offers band 5 therapeutic radiographers an excellent chance to expand their radiotherapy expertise and gain broad clinical experience. The role involves joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering sophisticated treatments combined with exemplary patient care. The successful candidate will receive specialized training to proficiently administer advanced therapies including Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), Voluntary Inspiratory Breath Hold (VIBH), and Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT).
Responsibilities
- Execute radiotherapy procedures in highly specialized and complex clinical settings such as treatment units, brachytherapy suites, CT scanning areas, virtual simulation zones, or treatment preparation areas ensuring precision and adherence to protocol.
- Contribute to clinical research activities within the department as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including medical, physics, nursing, clerical, and support personnel, with close liaison with senior radiographers.
