Test Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time QA Engineer fluent in Chinese and based in New Zealand to join our remote team. The role involves ensuring the quality of mobile applications and backend APIs by performing manual and automated testing, defect tracking, and release quality assurance. Collaboration with product, development, and other teams is essential to guarantee product functionality, stability, performance, and data accuracy meet launch standards. Work hours are aligned with UAE Time (GST, UTC+4), corresponding to 5 PM to 1 AM New Zealand time.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for mobile apps and APIs.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Create and maintain test cases based on product and technical requirements.
• Perform testing on Android and iOS mobile platforms.
• Validate API logic, data integrity, and error handling via API testing.
• Utilize tools like Appium and PyTest for developing and sustaining automated tests.
• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to boost coverage.
• Participate in performance and stress testing to identify system stability and performance issues.
• Log, track, and verify bugs while coordinating with developers for resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive test documentation and QA records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing or QA roles.
• Hands-on experience testing mobile applications.
• Experience with API testing and both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Understanding of Agile development processes.
• Familiarity with Python programming.
• Practical experience with Appium and PyTest testing frameworks.
• Proficient in testing Android and iOS platforms.
• Basic knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical skills and effective communication capabilities.
• Proficient in Chinese for daily work communication.
• Availability to work full-time according to UAE Time (UTC+4).

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Background in Fintech, financial technology, or financial services sectors.
• Familiarity with financial trading or payment systems.
• Experience with security testing.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience testing in cloud environments.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and Terraform.
• ISTQB certification is a plus.

Work Environment

• Fully remote working model with a distributed team.
• Work hours fixed to UAE Time (GST / UTC+4).
• Daily communications conducted in both Chinese and English.
