Telecommunications Commissioning Engineer - Offshore

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Telecommunications Commissioning Engineer, you will lead and carry out commissioning operations for various systems including CCTV, Access Control Systems, Environmental Monitoring Systems, PAGA, VHF/UHF Communication Systems, Networking, and OTN within project guidelines and approved procedures. Your tasks will encompass system configuration, functional testing, integration, and interface verification to guarantee smooth interoperability of Telecom, ELV, and associated project systems. You will be expected to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical challenges related to system functions, communication, network issues, hardware, software, and integration encountered during commissioning processes.

Regular inspections and testing activities are required to ensure that installations and overall system performance meet approved designs, standards, specifications, and client obligations. Furthermore, you will prepare and manage all commissioning documentation such as test reports, punch lists, inspection records, as-built documents, and handover dossiers collaboratively with project teams and clients. Coordination with engineering, construction, vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives is essential to facilitate the timely and successful completion of commissioning milestones.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Telecom and ELV system commissioning, particularly with exposure to Oil & Gas industry projects both onshore and offshore.
• Strong practical skills in commissioning, testing, configuration, and integration of systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Environmental Monitoring, PAGA, VHF/UHF radio communications, Networking, and OTN.
• Familiarity with industry standards, project specifications, commissioning procedures, testing protocols, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) mandates applicable to Oil & Gas projects.
• Possession of valid TBOSIET & H2S safety certifications is mandatory.

Additional Information

This position is a contract role based onsite in Doha, Qatar supporting a 3-month project duration.
