Role Overview

The Technician role is a full-time position located in Canberra, requiring on-site presence. Duties involve operating and maintaining blasting and glass treatment machinery, preparing surfaces as per project requirements, and assisting with installation or finishing tasks when needed. Daily responsibilities include interpreting job instructions, preparing workspaces, safely managing materials, and performing quality assurance checks to meet company standards.

Additional tasks include routine cleaning and basic troubleshooting of equipment, strict adherence to safety protocols, and collaborating closely with supervisors and colleagues to ensure timely project completion. The Technician may also assist with inventory management, material handling, and sporadic customer interactions at the worksite.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient operation and maintenance of technical equipment and tools emphasizing safety and precision.
  • Experience in manual labor, surface prep, construction, or similar trades.
  • Meticulous attention to quality, dependable punctuality, and strong time management.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions, read job specifications, and document task completion.
  • Willingness to engage in physical work on-site with proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability for minor equipment issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork aptitude to work respectfully in a diverse environment.
  • Vocational or trade certifications are beneficial; previous experience in glass work or blasting is highly desirable.
  • Valid driving license and legal authorization to work in Australia.
