Technician - Motorcycle Service

Job Overview

This role is based within the Service Department at Vayalat Motors, reporting directly to the Service Manager or Workshop Supervisor. Located in Kochi and Thrissur, the Technician will provide expert maintenance and repair services specifically for Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles by adhering to brand prescribed standards and high-quality benchmarks.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing tasks including periodic maintenance, oil and filter changes to maintain motorcycle performance.
• Carry out comprehensive repairs such as engine rebuilds, clutch and brake servicing, suspension fixes, and electrical system diagnostics.
• Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment to accurately identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct detailed inspections according to job card specifications and report additional repair needs to supervisors.
• Complete pre-delivery checks on new motorcycles ensuring they meet quality standards prior to customer delivery.
• Perform test rides post-repair to verify resolution of issues and confirm adherence to quality controls.
• Maintain equipment correctly including special tools and diagnostic devices; uphold workshop safety and cleanliness standards.
• Comply with proper disposal methods for waste materials such as oils, batteries, and parts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess an ITI or Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent vocational qualification.
• Have between 1 to 4 years experience as a technician specializing in two-wheelers, with preference for those experienced in premium brands or modern liquid-cooled engines.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of four-stroke engine mechanics, fuel injection systems, and ABS braking technologies.
• Be competent in the use of electrical multimeters, diagnostic scanners, and special service tools.
• Display excellent analytical abilities and meticulousness in work.

Licensing

Possession of a valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory for this role.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position located on-site in either Kochi or Thrissur. Monthly remuneration ranges between 18,000 and 28,000 INR.
