Role Summary

The Technical Writer will be integral to product teams, managing documentation responsibilities across key platform components. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and designers to produce clear, precise documentation aligned with the evolving product. The position demands end-to-end involvement in documentation creation, from planning to release, delivering impactful content that enhances the developer experience. In addition to content creation, the role includes maintaining and configuring the documentation infrastructure to ensure its reliability and scalability. Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of documentation for assigned product areas by working embedded alongside respective product teams.
• Collaborate deeply with engineering, product management, and design teams to stay updated on product roadmaps and ensure top-quality, aligned documentation.
• Gain expert knowledge of assigned Camunda products to write content reflecting authentic product usage and developer requirements.
• Lead the entire lifecycle of documentation development, from concept to publication, including writing, reviewing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Champion the role of documentation in improving the user experience by incorporating user viewpoints into product design conversations and influencing product development as appropriate.
• Use analytics, feedback, and personal insights to continuously enhance documentation clarity, structure, and completeness.
• Work jointly with other writers and the documentation team to adopt best practices and improve documentation tooling and standards.
• Maintain and refine the technical infrastructure and workflows of the documentation site, including tools for building, deploying, and configuring the Docusaurus platform.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in technical writing focused on developer-oriented materials such as user manuals, API references, tutorials, and technical blogs.
• Hands-on technical experience with Java, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, or similar technologies, with proven capability to comprehend, use, and test complex technical products, ideally Camunda 8 or equivalents.
• Demonstrated knowledge in documenting software installation in on-premise and SaaS environments.
• Ability to create content tailored to a diverse audience ranging from engineers and application developers to business analysts and process owners.
• Familiarity with docs-as-code methodologies, Docusaurus, AI tools, Git, and Markdown in a developer-focused context.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing and extending documentation site infrastructure, particularly using Docusaurus-based deployment processes.
• Background in software engineering or proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Comfortable evolving existing technical writing style guides and advocating for their cross-functional adoption.

Compensation and Benefits

Camunda offers competitive and transparent salaries, varying by global location and market conditions, with an annual total target cash including base salary and potential variable components as follows:

• United States: $102,300 to $164,900
• United Kingdom: £64,200 to £105,600
• Singapore: S$127,000 to S$190,500
• Canada: C$108,600 to C$178,600

Applicants based elsewhere will be hired through a global employment partner with personalized compensation provided post-interview. Additionally, eligible candidates may receive equity through the Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
