Technical Training Instructor

Job Overview

This position involves providing comprehensive technical instruction to maintenance staff within the Maintenance & Engineering division. The instructor will deliver training focused on aircraft systems, components, procedures for maintenance, and adherence to regulatory standards to equip trainees with the required expertise and practical know-how.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Deliver theoretical and hands-on training covering aircraft systems, components, maintenance operations, and safety procedures.
• Utilize a range of instructional approaches, including lectures, simulations, multimedia tools, and interactive workshops.
• Ensure all training curricula comply with regulations set by GACA, FAA, EASA, ICAO, and other relevant authorities.
• Keep thorough records and documentation of training activities in accordance with audit and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with the department to manage training resources effectively, supporting budget compliance.
• Offer constructive feedback and support to instructor colleagues to enhance curriculum and teaching effectiveness.
• Assist in continuously updating training materials to keep pace with technological advances, procedural changes, and updated regulations.
• Contribute to instructional design by providing insights on technical content and teaching strategies.
• Evaluate trainee progress through exams, practical testing, and feedback to guide improvements.
• Modify teaching methodologies to target areas needing development and foster trainee growth.
• Create and maintain an encouraging and inclusive educational environment.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to trainees to help ensure successful achievement of learning goals.
• Engage in the ongoing assessment and refinement of training programs and teaching approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Valid GACA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License or an equivalent qualification.
• Preferably hold aircraft type ratings relevant to the airline's fleet.
• Certification in instructional techniques or adult education is considered a strong asset.
• Possess a minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in aviation maintenance, with at least two years dedicated to technical training or instruction.
