Role Overview

We seek a seasoned and self-motivated SAP ABAP Technical Lead who will independently manage the complete technical delivery lifecycle across various SAP modules. The ideal candidate should possess extensive hands-on expertise in ABAP development and demonstrate leadership capabilities in solution architecture, performance improvement, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive problem resolution. As a primary technical liaison, the candidate will steer technical discussions, guide design choices, collaborate with Basis, Security, Functional, and Integration teams, and ensure superior quality in technical output with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end technical design, development, and deployment of SAP-based solutions.
• Take full ownership of technical projects and deliverables without constant supervision.
• Convert business needs into scalable and maintainable SAP technical solutions.
• Lead technical reviews and provide mentorship to junior SAP ABAP developers.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.
• Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigating plans.
• Estimate development timelines and contribute to technical project planning.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation contact for complex SAP issues.

SAP ABAP Development Expertise

• Extensive proficiency in classical ABAP as well as Object-Oriented ABAP paradigms.
• Development and customization of standard reports and ALV grids.
• Creation and maintenance of Core Data Services (CDS) Views and AMDP procedures.
• Utilization of SAP Enhancement Framework including BAdIs, User Exits, and enhancements (implicit and explicit).
• Development of SAP Forms including Adobe Forms, SmartForms, and SAPScript.
• Implementation of dialog programming and workflow modifications.
• Crafting BAPI and RFC interfaces and function modules.
• Experience writing technical specifications and crafting RICEFW objects.
• Familiarity with RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) is favored.
• Development of Fiori OData services via SAP Gateway technologies.

Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting

• Advanced skills in ABAP debugging and problem diagnosis.
• Utilization of runtime analysis tools such as SAT.
• Employ SQL tracing with ST05 and SQL Monitor tools for performance insights.
• Memory consumption analysis and optimization.
• Troubleshooting update task errors and background job issues.

Location and Work Mode

This role is based in Hyderabad with options for onsite or hybrid working arrangements depending on business needs. Positions are also available in Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Noida, and other locations across India.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or a B.Tech/B.E. in any specialization to be considered qualified for this role.
