Job description
About Executive AI Studio
Executive AI Studio creates AI-driven solutions powering Zimbabwean businesses operating on channels like WhatsApp. Their clientele includes farmers, hauliers, auctioneers, and media companies, many of whom are new to AI or have previously purchased ineffective products.
Compensation
The position offers a monthly base salary ranging from USD 1,200 to 2,000+, plus a commission structure. Commission is paid at 10% of all payments each client makes monthly, continuing for the entire time the employee remains with the company. Since sales are subscription-based, commissions grow with client retention over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively cold call and visit businesses in Harare, engaging prospects who may not expect contact.
- Lead initial sales meetings independently, qualifying prospects with transparency and honesty.
- Arrange and conduct product demonstrations tailored for qualified leads.
- Translate the AI system's capabilities into clear financial impact based on client data, emphasizing value rather than features.
- Maintain ongoing client relationships through regular check-ins, addressing dissatisfaction promptly to ensure renewal.
- Coordinate meetings between clients and developers as necessary for customized solutions.
- Participate in trade shows and networking events to generate warm leads through distribution of marketing materials.
- Keep the CRM database accurate and up to date, including tracking stalled opportunities.
Additional Notes on Role
Responsibility for clients extends beyond sales; the salesperson retains the client relationship and commission as long as payments continue. Developers can create bespoke product demos based on a prospect’s offerings and prices to enhance sales effectiveness.
Candidate Requirements
- At least three years of experience selling complex, relationship-driven products or services to Zimbabwean businesses, including software, equipment, or financial products.
- A robust personal network within Harare’s business community, with proven ability to secure meetings.
- Strong technical understanding sufficient to explain system functionality accurately and acknowledge limitations without needing programming skills.
- Proficiency in constructing ROI analyses from client data; this competency will be formally assessed.
- Commitment to honest and precise qualification to avoid misrepresentation, crucial in this small market.
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written, to handle all client interaction and documentation.
- Consistent and disciplined follow-up practices to secure revenue and client retention.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sectors such as agriculture, stockfeed, logistics, auctions, media, aviation, property, industrial safety supplies, or vehicle tracking.
- Knowledge of Shona or Ndebele languages.
- Previous employment in software companies rather than solely reselling software.
- Background in account management or customer success roles related to client retention.
