Job description
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and acquire new clients along with business opportunities within the designated region.
- Conduct regular visits to customers to grasp their machining needs and forthcoming projects.
- Market and sell a range of cutting tools including taps and threading tools, carbide turning inserts and holders, milling cutters with indexable milling tools, special cutting implements, as well as hole-making and other specialized tools.
- Generate quotations, handle inquiries, manage offers and track purchase orders efficiently.
- Meet and strive to exceed sales goals on monthly, quarterly, and yearly bases.
- Expand business relationships with current customers by discovering additional product requirements.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently deliver sales performance reports.
Application Engineering:
- Gain a deep understanding of customer machining applications, the nature of components, material types, and machine performance conditions.
- Select the optimal cutting tools including grades, geometries, and tool holders suited to the specific application.
- Advise on cutting parameters such as cutting speed (Vc), spindle speed (RPM), feed rates including feed per tooth, depth of cut, and specify suitable coolant conditions.
- Perform cutting tool test trials at customer sites to ensure effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze tool performance metrics including tool life, productivity yields, and quality of machining outputs.
- Optimize machining settings to boost efficiency and lower operational costs.
- Troubleshoot technical issues impacting machining such as excessive tool wear, chipping, breakage, built-up edges, inadequate surface finishes, chatter or vibration, chip control difficulties, dimensional inaccuracies, and shortened tool lifespan.
