Role Overview
AIQ offers a challenging opportunity as a Technical Project Manager focused on managing digital technologies in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will lead complex projects combining cutting-edge technology with strategic business objectives to improve operational efficiency and encourage innovation in the energy domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project implementation plans including milestones.
- Oversee end-to-end project execution using Agile methodologies.
- Manage all project stages adhering to the defined scope of work.
- Compile project documentation and finalize comprehensive reports.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to draft tender packages and issue SOW/RFQs.
- Evaluate technical proposals collaboratively with designated teams.
- Conduct detailed cost-benefit analysis for subcontracting versus internal development.
- Monitor project progression during product development with cross-functional teams of data scientists and software engineers working on cloud platforms.
- Facilitate team meetings, Agile ceremonies, and steering committees.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; maintain risk registers and action trackers.
- Follow up with stakeholders to resolve pending actions and ensure timely delivery.
- Assess team productivity through data collection and analysis.
- Coordinate cross-team releases and plan resource needs for current and future projects.
- Manage project budgets including CAPEX and OPEX.
- Develop departmental operational plans and budgets regarding personnel, operations, and technology.
- Facilitate teamwork reviews ensuring punctual completion of activities.
- Communicate project updates and risks to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and continuous improvement areas.
- Establish policies, procedures, and systems aligned with best practices and company codes.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency aligned with ISO standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Formulate detailed scopes of work in collaboration with ADNOC stakeholders and technology providers.
- Review and finalize scopes of work with client liaisons.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure projects meet schedule and budget constraints.
- Provide monthly progress, forecasting, and billing updates to finance teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 12 years managing projects, especially within the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors, with preference for candidates experienced with ADNOC.
- Proven track record managing a minimum of three large-scale projects in the oil and gas industry.
- Expertise in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and technology project management.
- Experience leading AI and big data technology initiatives.
- Proficiency in Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Strong user skills with MS Project, Jira, or similar project management tools.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing architectures and web-based applications.
- Preference for candidates with background in data management and AI solutions.
- PMP certification is desirable.
