Job description
Company Overview
Traveloka stands as Southeast Asia's top travel and lifestyle super-app, connecting millions of users with flights, hotel bookings, experiences, financial services, and more through a unified platform. Founded in 2012, the company has expanded across eleven markets, handling billions in transactions and establishing a leading consumer brand.
About The Team
The HRIS team is responsible for building and managing the internal digital infrastructure supporting thousands of employees, focusing on secure handling of employee data, regional compliance challenges, and integration of external and internal HR systems.
Role Summary
This position takes full ownership of the HRIS product lifecycle—from understanding stakeholder needs to developing, deploying, and maintaining solutions. You will collaborate closely with HR and HR Business Partners, identifying core problems beyond surface requests. Unlike typical PM roles, you will directly build solutions using AI-driven tools without relying on an engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in discovery sessions with non-technical HR and business users, guiding them to appropriate solutions and challenging incorrect requests.
- Manage and prioritize the product roadmap focusing on business outcomes rather than tasks or tickets.
- Create detailed Business and Product Requirement Documents, obtaining stakeholder approvals and using these as blueprints for development.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Cursor to design data models, backend services, and user interfaces; actively validate and correct AI outputs.
- Oversee releases to production, handle incidents, adapt to evolving requirements, and support deployed systems.
- Ensure that designs maintain data security standards and prevent exposure of sensitive employee information or system vulnerabilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience owning a product or product area including defining direction, prioritizing features, and measuring success based on outcomes.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, eliciting true requirements, reframing problems, and confidently declining unsuitable solutions without an engineering manager intermediary.
- Prior hands-on software engineering background sufficient to architect data models and application structures, with a keen eye to identify and prevent flawed designs.
- Proven experience personally building and deploying software using AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor, including instances of identifying errors in AI-generated code prior to production release.
- Adept at leading product development starting from ambiguous questions through to fully operational systems, working independently without needing fully detailed specifications upfront.
- Use data-driven metrics to evaluate the impact of your products, with clear explanations of measurement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or prior experience in HR, HRIS, or related people systems, including understanding compensation, talent management, organizational structures, compliance, and data privacy concerns.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS; programming languages including Python and TypeScript/React; and tools like Lark (Bitable, Docs, bots) and ABAC/OPA.
- Experience collaborating across multiple regions and engaging directly with senior HR and business leadership.
