Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to comprehensively manage our CRM and core TPA (Third-Party Administrator) product lines. This role requires technical expertise to oversee everything from detailed technical requirements and architectural decisions to product launch and user adoption. The position is closely integrated with engineering, involving deep engagement with data schemas, API definitions, and system design trade-offs, while guiding the product roadmap to support insurers, employers, hospitals, and members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the product lifecycle and technical roadmap for the CRM (including lead and case management, member and provider relationship workflows) and the core TPA platform (covering claims administration, cashless and reimbursement workflows, enrollment, and provider network servicing).
  • Collaborate directly with engineering teams to analyze system design choices by interpreting data models, schemas, API contracts, and integration touchpoints beyond user story requirements.
  • Convert operational issues encountered by claims, operations, and support teams into comprehensive technical documentation such as BRD/PRD formats and establish acceptance criteria.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators like claims turnaround time, CRM case resolution, product adoption, and data accuracy using SQL or BI tools, minimizing reliance on analysts.
  • Ensure the CRM and TPA platforms comply technically with regulatory frameworks, including IRDAI standards, by managing aspects like logging, version control, and access governance.
  • Conduct discovery sessions engaging both internal teams (operations, claims, compliance, engineering) and external partners (insurers, TPAs, employers) to gather input and validate requirements.
  • Handle backlog grooming, sprint preparation, and communicate technical releases consistently to all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in product management, with a minimum of 2 years focused on technical/platform roles managing CRM, claims, or other complex B2B/B2B2C operational systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science is highly preferred given the technical scope; an MBA is advantageous but not mandatory. Certifications are not required if substantial technical product ownership experience is demonstrated.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Background as a software engineer or technical role prior to product management.
  • Familiarity with claims administration or insurance operations workflow intricacies.
  • Experience working with document-oriented data models such as MongoDB.
  • Skilled in creating detailed BRD/PRD documents for engineering handoffs, preferably within AI-augmented software development lifecycle processes.
  • Prior exposure to health insurance, insurtech, healthcare technology, fintech, or similar regulated sectors.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Third-Party Administrator operations like cashless/reimbursement claims and provider network management.
  • Experience collaborating with compliance and regulatory teams in healthcare or financial services.

Preferred Candidate Attributes

  • A strong sense of ownership, comfortable being accountable for technical product outcomes beyond feature backlog management.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for producing precise technical specifications understandable by both engineering and operations teams.
  • A data-driven, structured approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive amid ambiguity typical in early-stage, small-scale product-engineering organizations.
