Job description

About Xapien

Xapien is transforming how organisations verify their collaborators—whether suppliers, investors, partners, or third parties—by combining rapid, scalable, and precise AI-driven due diligence. Since its founding in 2018, Xapien has evolved from a deep-tech startup into a global leader in AI-powered risk intelligence and due diligence. They secured a $10 million Series A in 2024, earned accolades such as the Chartis RiskTech100® and Everest Group’s Leading 50™, and have expanded their customer base and product portfolio worldwide.

In 2025, amidst growing regulatory demands, compliance needs, and reputation risks, organisations increasingly rely on Xapien for smarter, faster work. From global law firms and private banks to universities and nonprofits, their clients trust Xapien to reduce days of manual research into minutes with reliable insights.

Role Overview

The Technical Product Manager is pivotal in owning the product’s technical aspects: data ingestion, investigative engines, APIs, and integrations that embed Xapien’s capabilities into customer workflows. This role demands hands-on involvement—from interpreting API documentation and designing data flows to collaborating with engineers on trade-offs and translating these into actionable roadmaps aligned with commercial and enterprise needs.

The ideal candidate thrives on fast-paced problem-solving, identifying gaps, and sourcing data that unearth meaningful customer insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fully own product areas—frame, prioritise, propose validated solutions, and ensure quality, timely releases.
  • Lead product discovery with diverse methods including customer interviews, usage analysis, and market research, integrating findings into strategy.
  • Facilitate alignment across Product, Engineering, Solutions, Support, and Commercial teams; resolve dependencies and obstacles.
  • Manage product metrics, balancing user benefit with commercial impact.
  • Steer roadmap development for external data sources feeding research, such as corporate registries, sanctions lists, adverse media, and premium datasets.
  • Evaluate potential data providers for coverage, quality, licensing, and cost-effectiveness, enhancing report reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering to define ingestion, entity matching, and sourcing protocols in reports.
  • Develop investigative strategies leveraging data sources tailored to use cases; embed due diligence expertise in engineering processes to improve report quality.
  • Understand and challenge the due diligence workflows to optimize Xapien’s role in automating them.
  • Own integration of Xapien into client systems like CRMs, onboarding tools, and case management platforms, overseeing requirements definition and supporting implementation.
  • Define success metrics for integrations and iterate improvements based on real-world usage.
  • Lead product direction for configuration API and MCP features enabling programmable access and configuration of Xapien research.
  • Shape API design for consistency, version control, backwards compatibility, and developer experience.
  • Maintain developer documentation and examples to facilitate customer success; serve as the advocate for developer needs within the product team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrable experience managing B2B SaaS technical products, including APIs, integrations, data platforms, or developer tools.
  • Strong ability to comprehend API documentation, webhooks, data mapping, and authentication, engaging confidently in engineering discussions.
  • Hands-on with API tools like Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI, and experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude for prototyping and concept design.
  • Proven track record of shipping features from ambiguous concepts to successful delivery, with clear communication of trade-offs.
  • Robust analytical skills with a focus on metrics definition, usage data analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication abilities bridging technical and commercial stakeholders effectively.
  • Proactive mindset to identify gaps, take ownership, and assist with business growth in a scaling startup environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in regulated, data-intensive domains such as due diligence, governance, compliance, or risk management.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) concepts and emerging agent standards like MCP.
  • Experience managing third-party data providers and understanding commercial data licensing.
  • Previous roles in fast-growing startup companies.

Benefits

  • Collaborative workplace culture dedicated to your professional growth and challenge.
  • Equity participation via employee shares to own a meaningful business stake.
  • Private health insurance coverage.
  • Life insurance benefits.
  • Unlimited holidays allowing flexible time off as needed.
  • Annual £1,000 professional development fund to pursue learning, both work-related and personal.
  • Support to help you reach your full career potential.
