Job description
About the Role
We are creating an innovative mobility platform aimed at instantly delivering services to users. We seek a proactive Technical Lead and System Architect who will function as the primary technical foundation of the company. In this position, you will take full ownership of the technical strategy, overseeing the design of a resilient real-time data scraping and API integration pipeline, architecting cloud infrastructure, and eventually managing a small team of developers to actualize the platform.
This position is hands-on and technical rather than managerial, requiring a passion for coding, reverse-engineering APIs, and addressing complex challenges related to concurrency and system latency.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement a scalable backend system with low latency capable of servicing thousands of simultaneous live fare requests.
- Engineer and maintain sophisticated data pipelines involving web scraping and reverse-engineered APIs to retrieve real-time fare information without hitting rate limits or triggering blocks.
- Set up and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP, focusing on efficient caching via Redis and effective proxy management.
- Lead product delivery efforts for a cross-platform mobile app developed with Flutter or React Native to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Collaborate closely with the founder to define engineering needs, develop technical tasks, and recruit junior backend and mobile developers.
Technical Expertise Required
- Advanced proficiency in backend programming using Python, Node.js (TypeScript), or Go.
- Extensive experience with data extraction technologies such as Scrapy, Puppeteer or Playwright, proxy rotation frameworks, and methods to bypass anti-bot systems like Cloudflare.
- Strong skills in real-time data processing and caching technologies including Redis, WebSockets, and message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms and DevOps tools including AWS services (Lambda, EC2, ECS), Docker, and CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
- Experience managing high-performance databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB designed for fast read/write operations.
