Job Overview
We are looking for a proficient MS SQL Developer with 3 to 6 years of experience. The role involves designing databases, developing and optimizing performance, writing complex SQL, and offering critical support to application development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes.
- Craft efficient T-SQL queries to support reporting and implement business logic.
- Conduct query tuning and optimize overall database performance.
- Engage in ETL activities and assist with data migration tasks.
- Work closely with application developers to ensure seamless database integration within business applications.
- Oversee database security measures alongside backup and recovery operations.
- Continuously monitor database health, identifying and diagnosing performance issues.
- Maintain data integrity, consistency, and ensure high availability.
- Support and collaborate on reporting solutions like SSRS and Power BI.
- Document all database procedures and system architecture thoroughly.
Required Skills and Expertise
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2016, 2019, 2022, or latest).
- Advanced skills in T-SQL, including creating stored procedures, views, triggers, and developing indexing methods.
- Experience analyzing execution plans and performing query and performance tuning.
- Practical knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, or other ETL tools.
- Familiarity with database backup, recovery, transaction management, locking mechanisms, isolation levels, and deadlock resolution.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within teams.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based databases, particularly Azure SQL.
- Exposure to high availability architectures such as Always On, clustering, replication, and mirroring.
- Familiarity with other relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Basic awareness of NoSQL database systems.
