Overview

Finclutech develops digital financial services and platforms for mobile money utilized across various markets. The company partners with banks, telecommunications companies, and payment providers. This position requires a Technical Business Analyst adept at converting intricate financial service requirements into clear, actionable specifications for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and consolidate business needs from diverse stakeholders, converting them accurately into detailed technical requirements for software development.
• Maintain project timelines ensuring delivery of requirements within agreed scope and deadlines.
• Design technical solutions that align seamlessly with business objectives.
• Create comprehensive documentation including functional specs, system requirements, workflows, and UML diagrams to guide development teams.
• Evaluate technical viability of proposed solutions and identify potential risks or constraints early in the process.
• Serve as the communication bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding.
• Provide continued clarification and assistance to developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to define acceptance criteria and formulate test cases derived from business requirements.
• Assure that delivered software meets expected functional, performance, and quality standards.
• Support User Acceptance Testing by validating that the solution fulfills business needs.
• Recommend enhancements to business processes and system functionalities based on stakeholder and user feedback.
• Analyze product performance after deployment to pinpoint improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with project managers to guarantee timely and efficient delivery of projects.
• Utilize artificial intelligence tools, including Claude, to expedite requirements analysis, create documentation drafts, and automate workflows, while rigorously reviewing AI-generated content for precision and accuracy.
• Draft requirements for integration projects involving third-party service providers such as telcos, payment gateways, and banking partners, coordinating interdependencies with external vendors.

Qualifications and Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is mandatory; certifications like CBAP or PMI-PBA are highly desirable.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst within software development environments, especially with technical aspects of development.
• Strong domain expertise in Banking and Mobile Money services.
• Demonstrated experience producing business requirements for financial systems; familiarity with banking and mobile money sectors preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies and proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA.
• Skilled in authoring detailed business and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experienced with requirements management and documentation tools including Microsoft Office, MS Visio, Adobe XD, Confluence, and other specialized business analysis software.
• General knowledge of software development concepts, databases (especially SQL), web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs), and programming frameworks to facilitate technical discussions.
• Competency in preparing UML diagrams (Use Case, Activity, Sequence, and Class diagrams) for system architecture design.
• Ability to construct workflows and process flow diagrams that map business operations.
• Capability to clearly explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for preparing documentation, reports, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical aptitude to dissect complicated business challenges and suggest technical resolutions.
• Proactive attitude in early identification and resolution of development issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams including developers, QA, product owners, and project managers.
• Competence in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adjusting to project changes flexibly.
• Experience with AI and large language model tools such as Claude to assist with requirements analysis, documentation, and process automation is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering principles and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for business relevance and accuracy.
• Familiarity with API documentation/specification tools like Postman is beneficial.
• Awareness of payment infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues specific to mobile money (such as PCI-DSS and Data Protection) is advantageous.
• Exposure to business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI for analyzing product and transactional data is a plus.
