Job description

About the Role

Proxify is Europe's largest network of rigorously vetted software developers, committed to connecting companies with engineers who can deliver immediate impact. Each month, we receive around 20,000 applications and select the top 200 candidates through an innovative vetting process, which is our core product.

Despite careful selection, occasionally the wrong developer match affects client roadmaps and leads to client loss. The challenge of distinguishing genuine talent increases in an era where AI-assisted software development changes traditional evaluation signals. Our vast dataset on developer performance remains untapped for predictive hiring insights.

As a Technical Assessment Architect, you will lead the creation of advanced evaluation approaches to identify exceptional engineers. This includes designing technical interviews, tests, realistic simulations, AI-powered tools, and new assessment formats that don't yet exist. You will independently define what and how to evaluate, scaling these processes effectively while collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the technical vetting process across different engineering roles and experience levels, translating real-world performance into clear evaluative signals.
  • Design and develop assessments such as interviews, tests, and simulated work scenarios, including innovative methods tailored for current needs.
  • Adapt evaluation techniques to the AI-enhanced development landscape, emphasizing skills like directing AI agents, reviewing AI output, and debugging externally written code.
  • Incorporate AI technologies into the assessment workflow to maintain high-quality content, improve interviewer consistency, and support decision-making at large scale.
  • Validate and optimize evaluation methods by linking results to actual job performance, conducting A/B tests, and expanding successful strategies.
  • Establish quality standards and controls to ensure fair and scalable assessments for thousands of applicants monthly.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with software development and deep knowledge in at least one technical domain.
  • Analytical mindset with strong data-driven skills, understanding evaluation reliability, bias reduction, consistency, and predictive validity.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and insights into how these reshape software engineering.
  • A clear vision for evolving technical evaluations and ideas for experimental validation.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling influence and leadership without formal authority.

Additional Details

  • Role level: Lead, an individual contributor with direction-setting responsibility.
  • Work location: Remote within Europe, with occasional visits to the Stockholm headquarters.
  • Language proficiency: English at C1 level or above.

Why This Role Matters

Successful assessment ensures talented engineers receive pivotal career opportunities while clients build stronger teams. Conversely, misjudgments can have significant costs. This position offers a unique intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and product innovation to redefine how technical talent is recognized and hired.
