Role Overview
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) serves as a proactive technical liaison, supporting customers throughout Veeam implementations and beyond. This role focuses on maximizing the value customers obtain from Veeam products and services, acting as a trusted advisor and technical expert. Responsibilities encompass planning, designing, coordinating, and managing post-sales technical initiatives, particularly involving data availability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consulting and support services aligned with Veeam solution designs and deliverables.
- Manage project frameworks including plans, scheduling, communication strategies, resource allocation, and status reporting.
- Assist in solution assessments, designs, and troubleshooting post-installation challenges.
- Estimate efforts required for implementing Veeam solutions.
- Develop documentation such as white papers, solution guides, and best practice manuals.
- Provide onsite training and knowledge transfer related to Veeam software solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive records of configurations and completed work activities.
- Analyze system environments to recommend optimal Veeam configurations.
- Act as an intermediary to facilitate communication between clients and Veeam support teams.
- Identify client needs that align with Veeam solutions for additional problem resolution.
- Contribute ideas to enhance processes and documentation quality.
- Be prepared for overnight business travel as needed to achieve organizational goals.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the IT sector.
- Holds certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, or equivalent qualifications.
- Project management certifications like Prince2, ITIL, PMP, or similar are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Hands-on expertise with core Veeam products.
- Proven experience in consulting and project management roles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship development capabilities.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience with advanced storage technologies such as Nimble, Nexsan, Actifio, and Veeam.
- Practical knowledge of networking protocols and hardware, including Fiber Channel, Ethernet, and cloud services.
- Familiarity with traditional storage and backup infrastructures from vendors like EMC, NetApp, IBM, HP/3PAR, Hitachi, and Dell.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise applications like Exchange, SQL, and Oracle.
- Proficient in data management, protection, and analytics.
- Experience using Kubernetes platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of data center operations, business continuity, and operating systems.
- Successful track record managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working understanding of cloud technology, capabilities, and protocols.
- Foundational knowledge of security technologies and concepts.
