Job description
Role Overview
The Tech Maintenance Assistant will directly report to the Field Line Manager and be part of the HVAC Aftermarket team based in Qatar. The core responsibility is to support the technical group by installing, servicing, repairing, and conducting routine maintenance on refrigeration systems including reciprocating and screw compressors, condensing units, evaporators, valves, and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs within specified time limits adhering to processes, service contracts, and client requirements.
- Complete scheduled site visits and address customer service requests promptly as assigned.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, provide proactive feedback, and document equipment status and completed work accurately.
- Carry out field operations aligned with all Business Area key responsibilities.
- Work under supervision to diagnose and fix system malfunctions requiring technical know-how and pertinent qualifications, seeking support or escalating issues as needed.
- Understand and interpret technical documentation including electrical diagrams, fluid schematics, piping and psychrometric charts.
- Engage with customers upon arrival and departure; regularly communicate to understand operational issues and customer requirements thoroughly.
- Keep customers informed about services rendered, identify unresolved issues, suggest system upgrades or replacements, and promote additional services or materials when applicable.
- Provide customer training and advice on system operations.
- Document service activities clearly and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Enhance technical expertise relating to Johnson Controls products.
- Follow all safety protocols and Johnson Controls safety culture rigorously.
- Comply with environmental and industry standards and regulations relevant to the work.
- Perform any other related tasks or responsibilities as defined individually.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant certifications in trades such as BAS/BNS, HVAC, or Refrigeration.
- Solid foundational product knowledge with the ability to understand entire system functionality.
- 2 to 3 years of practical experience in a related technical field.
- Fluency in English language communication skills.
