Team Leader - Cleaning Team

Overview

Tassal Group is looking for a dedicated Team Leader to head the Afternoon Cleaning Crew at their Huonville processing plant. This hands-on leadership position demands ensuring top-tier hygiene, stringent safety compliance, excellent operational standards, and cultivating a motivated, engaged team atmosphere.

Main Duties

• Lead and organize the afternoon shift cleaning crew of around 13 members to reach hygiene and operational goals.
• Guarantee adherence to safety protocols, quality control, and food hygiene guidelines.
• Maintain safety and quality documentation to ensure workplace compliance.
• Effectively liaise with team members and other business stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvements in hygiene programs and operational efficiencies.
• Identify and apply process enhancements related to cleaning, workplace health and safety (WHS), and quality systems.
• Nurture a positive team environment through guidance, leadership, and ongoing staff development.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in leadership with solid supervisory and people management capabilities.
• Background in industrial or manufacturing settings, preferably in food production.
• Keen knowledge and experience in chemical handling, including safe usage and storage.
• Comprehensive understanding of food processing, hygiene protocols, and quality assurance standards.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and the capacity to uphold safety regulations.
• Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Mindset focused on continuous improvement, able to spot opportunities and implement changes.
• Self-driven, highly organised, and skilled at steering a high-performing team in dynamic environments.
• Flexibility to adjust to roster changes on short notice.
