Position Overview
We are seeking a Team Lead for ECS Application Security to lead and inspire a skilled group of engineers in a fast-paced, agile, cloud-first setting. This position involves establishing technical benchmarks, guiding strategic initiatives, and delivering comprehensive application security solutions to protect enterprise systems. The role offers an exciting chance to shape the future of secure development at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement team strategy, creating a clear roadmap and vision for success.
- Provide mentorship and foster the professional and technical growth of engineers and analysts.
- Conduct workforce planning and manage performance objectives aligned with business goals.
- Manage multiple projects effectively through superior organizational and planning skills.
- Own the definition and delivery of the team’s roadmap, outlining milestones achieving overall vision.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure impactful and customer-centric outcomes.
- Promote adoption of Secure-SDLC processes, including secrets management, SAST, SCA, and DAST where applicable.
- Enhance automation, test coverage, release speed, and maintain production stability.
- Set and uphold technical standards through code reviews and architectural guidelines.
- Engage with leadership teams across engineering, business, and operations to align security priorities.
- Use data-driven approaches for decision-making related to trade-offs, capacity planning, and risk assessment.
- Effectively communicate updates, challenges, and results to both peers and senior leaders.
- Keep updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and frameworks.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement with metrics, post-project reviews, and ongoing education.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 12 years of experience in IT, including a minimum of 5 years in both technical and people leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success delivering scalable, cloud-native software using Secure-SDLC methodologies.
- Strong expertise in systems architecture, SDLC processes, Agile methodologies, AWS technologies, and DevSecOps practices.
- A data-oriented mindset with experience leveraging analytics and metrics for strategic decisions.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience managing stakeholders and collaborating across functions.
- Enthusiastic coach capable of supporting growth in team members at all levels.
- Experience in defining strategic vision and translating it into actionable roadmaps.
- Knowledge of application security tools such as secrets scanning, SAST, DAST, and SCA is advantageous.
