Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Team Lead proficient in Python, FastAPI, and Django to head our backend engineering team. This role demands a hands-on leader capable of designing scalable systems, guiding developers, overseeing project execution, and promoting engineering best practices. Candidates should blend technical proficiency with strong leadership qualities and dedication towards developing efficient, high-performance software.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and management for the backend development team.
• Architect and develop scalable backend applications and microservices.
• Implement clean, maintainable, and efficient solutions using Python, FastAPI, and Django frameworks.
• Perform code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices.
• Work closely with Product, UI/UX, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver top-notch software products.
• Plan sprints, delegate tasks, and ensure timely project deliveries.
• Oversee system performance, security measures, and scalability.
• Promote technical innovation and suggest enhancements to current architectures.
• Document technical processes and maintain development guidelines.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of team members.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of practical Python development experience.
• At least 2 years experience in leading or managing software development teams.
• Expertise with Python frameworks including FastAPI and Django.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with cloud services platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Hands-on experience using Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum teams.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of frontend frameworks like React.js, Next.js, or Angular.
• Exposure to AI/ML techniques and related frameworks.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as Airflow and Apache Spark.
• Building and scaling applications for high-traffic environments.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and message queues including RabbitMQ or Kafka.
