Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tax Director to join Azets Ireland in a senior leadership capacity. You will manage a varied portfolio of domestic and international clients from sectors such as technology, healthcare, retail, consumer markets, hospitality, entertainment, and startups. Your role will be to act as a trusted advisor providing expert tax consultancy and strategic advice, while leading a skilled team to deliver superior client service and foster growth within the tax practice. You will also have an active leadership role in business development and guiding the tax department's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a broad range of clients, offering strategic tax advice and high-quality consultancy services.
• Build and maintain trusted advisory relationships on complex tax issues.
• Ensure compliance and advisory work meets accuracy and timeliness standards with technical excellence.
• Develop innovative, commercially-focused tax planning and structuring solutions that support clients' growth objectives.
• Initiate business development efforts to expand the tax practice at Azets Ireland.
• Identify new opportunities within existing and prospective clients to grow revenue.
• Promote Azets’ market presence through networking, thought leadership, and professional representation.
• Contribute to the firm’s wider strategic planning and growth objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing tax team, promoting collaboration and continuous learning.
• Manage work allocation to maintain high performance and balanced workloads.
• Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with Azets’ values.
• Maintain expert knowledge of Irish and international tax laws, ensuring the firm stays current.
• Review complex tax technical work providing clear guidance and oversight.
• Collaborate with other service lines such as audit, advisory, and corporate finance to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Support tax process and technology innovation to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified CTA/CTC or equivalent tax professional certification.
• Substantial post-qualification experience in tax advisory and compliance within a professional services context.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience in a tax function.
• Proven skills in business development and managing client relationships.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish and international taxation.
• Strategic mindset capable of influencing growth and business initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Collaborative, dynamic, and forward-thinking approach consistent with Azets’ corporate values.
