SpaceX is driven by a vision of humanity exploring the cosmos, aiming to establish human life on Mars by advancing necessary technologies. Presently, SpaceX is expanding the Starlink business globally and requires support in international tax compliance.
Role Overview
The Tax Analyst will be an integral member of the international tax team situated in Dublin, Ireland. This role involves managing U.S. and international tax matters associated with SpaceX subsidiaries worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare data alongside external service providers for the filing of direct and indirect tax returns, and support month-end financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and electronic invoicing mandates across all jurisdictions where Starlink operates.
- Collaborate closely with multiple departments such as operations, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, accounting, and finance to build a robust compliance network within the company and with external parties.
- Manage tax payments by monitoring deadlines, calculating accurate payment amounts, and confirming proper recording in financial records.
- Support maintenance of tax documentation, including legal agreements, customs paperwork, and transfer pricing records.
- Assist in handling any tax notices or audits from governmental authorities.
- Contribute to various ad hoc projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is essential.
- At least two years of combined tax experience in public accounting or within multinational corporations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- A degree specialized in accounting or tax is preferred.
- Experience at a Big Four accounting firm or in multinational company settings.
- Knowledge of electronic invoicing standards and VAT/GST regulations.
- Well-versed in indirect tax compliance for digital services, satellite communications, or imported hardware across various countries.
- Understanding of transfer pricing principles.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools including Microsoft Excel, OneSource, Alteryx, and SQL.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and efficiency in managing workflows.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Languages such as French or Portuguese are advantageous.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends to meet critical deadlines.
- Position requires physical presence in Dublin; remote or hybrid arrangements will not be considered.
