Position Overview
Google's in-house tax team specializes in comprehensive corporate tax matters, offering in-depth expertise especially relevant to internet-based companies. As a Tax Analyst within the APAC region, you will provide critical support to senior tax professionals, assisting with tax optimization strategies, research, controversy resolution, and various cross-functional initiatives across APAC countries. Your daily tasks involve collaboration with tax experts, financial leadership, and multiple business units to address complex tax issues, support audits, and promptly resolve tax matters to reduce the company's tax liabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complex tax projects involving numerous stakeholders, shifting timelines, and dynamic conditions.
- Streamline processes to enhance quality and shorten turnaround times by identifying inefficiencies.
- Conduct detailed assessments to ensure the organization complies with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Develop and sustain strong team dynamics, providing support throughout project durations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent practical background.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in tax-related roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees such as an MBA or Master of Science in Accounting.
- Proven experience in analyzing tax policies, including evaluating economic incentives and fiscal impact modeling.
- Solid understanding of tax laws, attributes, and related issues.
- Familiarity with technology and data analytics relevant to tax functions.
- Strong skills in project management, tax research, and communication.
