Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tailor to mend, repair, and alter guest clothing and employee uniforms using techniques including hand stitching, adhesive patches, and sewing machines. You will be responsible for distributing clean uniforms to staff following company guidelines and managing damaged uniform repairs either in-house or via external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Alter, repair, and adjust garments and uniforms, ensuring high-quality hand and machine stitching.
• Distribute clean uniforms according to company standards and handle the collection and issuance records meticulously.
• Send damaged uniforms for repair to designated locations such as seamstresses, housekeeping, or external service providers.
• Document guest requests concerning laundry, dry cleaning, minor repairs, and pressing while adhering to company protocols.
• Inspect uniforms to identify damage, remove substandard items from use, and issue replacements accordingly.
• Comply with all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
• Maintain a professional, clean personal appearance and uphold confidentiality and asset protection.
• Foster positive workplace relationships and contribute to team objectives.
• Provide courteous service to guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ensure the quality standards of all uniforms and garments are consistently met.
• Be physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
• Complete other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of three years working experience as a tailor within UAE’s 5-star luxury hotel or laundry settings.
• Proficiency in garment alterations, repairs, hemming, patching, and uniform adjustments.
• Solid knowledge of handling and maintaining hotel uniforms, linens, and fabric materials.
• Experience in operating sewing machines, overlock machines, and a variety of tailoring tools.
• Understanding of various fabric types, precise measurements, and garment fitting methods.
• Basic familiarity with linen room operations and inventory control procedures.
• Ability to manage uniform distribution, collection, modifications, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Demonstrates a positive work attitude, dependability, and strong dedication to excellent customer service and team collaboration.
• Basic proficiency in English communication and capability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
