Tableau Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator to join our team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have between 4 to 6 years of direct experience managing enterprise Tableau environments, focusing on server administration, security, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Tableau Server administration on Linux platforms, including installation, configuration, upgrade processes, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Manage Tableau Server architecture versions 2024.x and 2025.x, handling server-side capabilities.
• Maintain Tableau Server in distributed enterprise settings ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
• Administer various aspects such as user access, permissions, sites, projects, groups, scheduling, extracts, and data sources.
• Monitor server utilization, dashboard and workbook usage, extract efficiency, and overall server health metrics.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues, applying solutions to enhance platform efficiency.
• Support Tableau developers with publishing tasks, data source management, refresh operations, and troubleshooting concerns.
• Implement automation for deployment of workbooks and data sources across environments and administrative tasks utilizing scripting.
• Leverage Tableau Admin Views and work with Tableau Server repository/workgroup database tables for detailed monitoring and analysis.
• Coordinate with Tableau Support to resolve product-related issues including defects and enhancements.
• Possess working knowledge of Tableau Desktop including foundational dashboard and workbook development along with data connectivity.
• Ensure robust security management encompassing authentication, authorization, and enterprise-level administration within Tableau ecosystems.

Candidate Profile and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E, B.Tech) or MCA qualification.
• Minimum 4 to 6 years practical experience in Tableau Server administration within a Linux environment.
• Expertise with Tableau Server versions 2024.x and 2025.x.
• Demonstrated capability in performance tuning and security management on Tableau platforms.
• Proficiency in shell scripting to automate server and deployment tasks.
• Strong comprehension of Tableau administrative views and server databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and support.
• Comfortable working onsite five days a week from the Hyderabad office.
