Role Overview
The Tableau Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing Tableau Server environments across the enterprise. This position demands expertise in administration, performance enhancement, security management, and automation within Tableau Server deployments, particularly on Linux platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise Tableau Server on Linux, including installation, configuration, updates, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Manage Tableau Server architecture and server-side features for versions 2024.x and 2025.x.
- Ensure high availability, security, reliability, and optimal performance of Tableau Server in a distributed environment.
- Oversee user access control, permission settings, site and project management, group coordination, scheduling, data extracts, and data source administration.
- Monitor server utilization, dashboard/workbook usage statistics, extract performance, and overall server health.
- Diagnose and resolve performance-related issues, implementing improvements as needed.
- Support Tableau developers with tasks such as publishing workbooks and dashboards, managing data source refreshes, and troubleshooting publishing challenges.
- Implement automation for workbook and data source deployment across environments, as well as automate administrative workflows using scripting.
- Leverage Tableau Admin Views and analyze Tableau Server repository/workgroup tables for monitoring and analytical purposes.
- Collaborate with Tableau Support to identify and resolve product defects, issues, and implement enhancements.
- Utilize Tableau Desktop for a foundational understanding of dashboard development and data connectivity.
- Maintain strong communication skills for effective coordination and reporting.
Mandatory Skills
- Proficient in Tableau Server Administration on Linux systems.
- Experience with Tableau Server versions 2024.x and 2025.x architectures.
- Expertise in Tableau Server performance tuning and security administration.
- Strong command of shell scripting and automation for administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of Tableau Admin Views and the Tableau Server repository database for monitoring purposes.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Hyderabad. Candidates should be willing to work physically from the office five days a week.
Eligibility
The opening is suited for professionals with 4 to 6 years of practical Tableau Administration experience within enterprise environments, holding qualifications such as B.E, B.Tech, or MCA.
