TAB Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled TAB Technician to carry out testing, adjusting, and balancing tasks for HVAC air and chilled water systems. The role involves precise measurement and calibration to ensure optimal system performance in line with design requirements.

Primary Duties

• Perform comprehensive testing and balancing of airflow and water flow within HVAC systems using calibrated instruments.
• Carry out adjustment procedures for air handling units (AHUs), fresh air handling units (FAHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), various fans, air terminals, and chilled water pumps.
• Detect and troubleshoot airflow and water flow issues, providing recommendations for remediation.
• Document all measurements meticulously, prepare TAB test documentation, and compile detailed technical reports.
• Collaborate closely with site engineers and commissioning teams to validate HVAC systems' compliance with design specifications.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a relevant technical certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC technology, or a correlated discipline.
• Have at least four years of hands-on experience in HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing, especially in construction environments.
• Demonstrated expertise working with AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, and chilled water systems, including ventilation components.
• Proficient in using calibrated airflow and water flow measuring tools with precision.
• Able to interpret HVAC designs, read technical drawings accurately, and create comprehensive TAB reports.
