Systems Support Specialist - Ground Services Automation

Role Overview

Ground Services at Qatar Airways seeks a Systems Support Specialist dedicated to advancing airport operations through automation, system optimization, and technology-based solutions. This exciting opportunity involves acting as the primary System Owner and Subject Matter Expert for critical operational platforms, playing a vital role in driving digital transformation initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, compliance, and customer satisfaction across the airline's network.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement strategic automation initiatives to enhance operational productivity, passenger experience, and business outcomes.
• Maintain ownership of Ground Services technology systems, ensuring their stability, security, performance, and alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee support and management of core operational platforms including Passenger Check-in, Self-Service Tech, Interline Integration (IATCI), Weight & Balance, Load Control, Biometrics, and multiple Regulatory & Security Systems.
• Guide the assessment, deployment, and network-wide rollout of new systems and enhancements ensuring seamless operation and business continuity.
• Continuously monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analyses, and coordinate resolution strategies with all relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather, prioritize, and translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions with successful adoption.
• Champion ongoing process improvements, engage user feedback, and identify automation opportunities to generate measurable benefits.
• Implement governance, compliance, cybersecurity, audit, and risk procedures protecting passenger data and system reliability.
• Work closely with diverse departments and external partners to manage expectations, project risks, benefits realization, and performance metrics.
• Prepare detailed business cases, executive reports, and strategic recommendations to inform prioritization and future automation plans.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of five years professional experience in relevant roles.
• Proficient in supporting airport service systems including DCS, BRS, IATCI, Self-Service, Biometrics, and GHA systems.
• Preferred certifications include PMP, Agile/Scrum, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or related Business Intelligence/Data Analytics qualifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in system support, automation deployments, business analysis, and operational technology management.
• Strong capabilities in stakeholder management with extensive experience in requirements elicitation.
• Familiarity with system lifecycle and operational support protocols.
• Preferred detailed knowledge of Amadeus Altea Suite, Departure Control Systems, passenger processing platforms, operational reporting, and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
