Position Overview
KBR seeks a Systems Engineer to support the Integrated Air and Space Program Office (IASPO) by applying systems engineering expertise to deliver and sustain complex Defence capabilities. This role focuses on ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and fulfill operational requirements while working alongside Defence personnel and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute systems engineering tasks throughout the capability lifecycle to aid development, integration, and maintenance of Defence systems.
- Advise on technical challenges, provide engineering solutions, and support project risk management and decision processes.
- Perform systems safety activities, including hazard analyses, to maintain compliance with Defence and regulatory standards.
- Review technical documents, engineering designs, and contractor submissions, offering recommendations for quality and capability improvements.
- Participate in engineering assurance to verify that delivered systems meet technical, operational, and safety criteria.
- Work collaboratively with Defence stakeholders, industry, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success.
- Communicate complex technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an Australian-recognized tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Experienced in applying systems engineering principles to complex Defence or aerospace projects.
- Proficient in systems safety, hazard analysis, and engineering assurance methodologies.
- Skilled in evaluating technical documentation, engineering designs, and vendor deliverables.
- Well-versed in engineering governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively with government agencies, industry partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to mentor less experienced engineers and support a positive team environment.
- Possesses a minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and is an Australian citizen, meeting eligibility requirements.
