System Validation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly driven System Validation Engineer to join our expanding team based in Limerick. This position will focus on validating advanced power management technologies including multiphase digital controllers, Smart Power Stages, SmartFETs, eFuses, Gate Drivers, and related power-delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement detailed system validation plans addressing functional, electrical, reliability, and system-level criteria.
• Create and deploy novel validation techniques, measurement methods, and testing platforms for new developments.
• Conduct hands-on lab validation activities including characterization and troubleshooting of silicon and system hardware.
• Automate testing procedures using programming tools such as Python and LabVIEW.
• Design validation hardware setups including test fixtures and necessary electronic circuits.
• Validate features such as product functionality, protection mechanisms, telemetry, communication interfaces, power sequencing, fault management, and performance metrics.
• Perform electrical characterization under varied operating conditions including voltage, load ranges, temperatures, and transient events.
• Investigate test results to diagnose root causes, collaborating closely with design, engineering, firmware, and testing teams.
• Assist silicon bring-up processes and contribute towards market release readiness activities.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation of validation outputs, produce technical reports, and present conclusions to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous enhancements in validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and best practice standards.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
• 8 to 12 years of industry experience in semiconductor, power electronics, system validation or related hardware development roles.
• In-depth understanding of analog and digital circuitry principles.
• Proficient in operating lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, logic analyzers, and signal/spectrum analyzers.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing complex hardware and silicon issues.
• Solid analytical skills combined with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work effectively with international, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on system-level validation experience with multiphase power controllers, digital VR controllers, Smart Power Stages, POL regulators, and PMIC products.
• Familiarity with power conversion topologies such as Buck, Multiphase Buck, and TLVR architectures.
• Validation experience targeting CPU and GPU power delivery systems.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety standards including ISO 26262 and ISO 21780, and familiarity with SiC/GaN technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for assisted validation.
• Test automation skills in Python, LabVIEW, C/C++ or similar languages.
• Background in FPGA-based validation and emulation techniques.
• Familiarity with project management and test documentation tools like Jama, Jira, and Confluence.
• Competency in PCB design principles and schematic review.
• Expertise in validation planning, compliance verification, characterization, and correlation methods.
