About OverIT
OverIT is an IT Helpdesk company dedicated to providing network and technical support services primarily for American Advanced Management (AAM), a US-based organization. The support team operates efficiently around the clock, ensuring seamless backend connectivity and issue resolution.
Role Overview
The System Administrator will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's network and server infrastructure. This includes managing switches, firewalls, VPNs, virtual machines, storage solutions, and cloud backup systems. The role demands installation, configuration, and securing of network hardware and software to guarantee excellent system uptime, high performance standards, and robust data protection mechanisms.
The incumbent will administer VMware environments, oversee Active Directory and Group Policy settings, and conduct regular patch management. Troubleshooting complex network and server-related issues form a significant part of the role alongside leading disaster recovery efforts. Additional responsibilities include building new network components such as VLANs, Wi-Fi networks, and firewalls; managing backup tools like Veeam and QNAP; and maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records. Ensuring adherence to security best practices is crucial, as is providing technical leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams on network design and optimization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 3 to 10+ years of experience in network engineering.
- Mandatory CompTIA Network+ certification; CCNA or CCNP certifications are preferred.
- Strong proficiency in routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VMware, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi standards (802.11n/ac/ax).
- Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Ansible, alongside network test and analysis tools including Wireshark.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network and server issues, manage projects effectively, and contribute to network architecture initiatives.
Job Details
- Work schedule: 5 days a week.
- Night shift timings: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Work location: Jalandhar, Punjab, India.
- Monthly salary range: 30000 to 50000 INR.
