Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the availability, security, and smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure both at the branch office and aboard assigned vessels, ensuring full adherence to corporate standards and supporting local operations.
  • Administer servers, systems, backup solutions, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) in branch office and onboard vessels.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations along with local applications.
  • Constantly monitor and supervise IT infrastructure activities to guarantee efficient performance.
  • Participate in budget preparation by supplying relevant technical information.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support: initial troubleshooting and resolution of user-reported incidents for both office and vessel environments, including hardware, software, applications, and network issues. Level 2 includes in-depth diagnosis and remediation.
  • Apply and enforce Corporate IT policies and procedures concerning systems, networks, and security protocols.
  • Oversee local Active Directory and messaging administration within delegated authority: manage user accounts, local policy distribution, and access control.
  • Deliver IT support and routine maintenance for vessels under local responsibility.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance duties on onboard technical infrastructure.
  • Implement and sustain satellite communication links and onboard network connectivity.
  • Supervise satellite links, virtual private networks (VPNs), and dedicated communication lines connecting vessels and offices.
  • Report technical issues and coordinate remediation efforts with Corporate IT and third-party service providers.
  • Manage inventory, refresh hardware assets, and administer local software licenses.
  • Prepare local technical documentation and assist with infrastructure projects and system upgrades.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience in system and server administration.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking, backup processes, Active Directory, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Proven troubleshooting capabilities across hardware, software, network, and server-related problems.
  • Experience managing and supporting remote locations and vessels to ensure continuous operations.
  • Strong organization skills with a disciplined and systematic working style.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
