Sustainability Manager

Role Overview

We seek a Sustainability Manager to spearhead and coordinate sustainability-focused initiatives within our organization. This role is centered on embedding environmental, social, and ethical business practices into company strategy, day-to-day operations, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed individual will craft and execute comprehensive sustainability strategies, policies, and action plans aligned with company goals and industry benchmarks. This position involves discovering avenues to enhance environmental impact, optimize resource utilization, reduce energy consumption, manage waste effectively, lower carbon emissions, and promote responsible sourcing.

The Sustainability Manager will collaborate with internal departments, external consultants, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to weave sustainability into project design, processes, and organizational choices. Regular duties include tracking sustainability metrics, developing key performance indicators, conducting data analysis, generating detailed reports, facilitating sustainability audits and certifications, and reporting progress to concerned parties.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related fields.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental management systems, resource efficiency, and ethical business operations.
• Expertise in carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emissions analysis, energy conservation methods, waste minimization, and environmental performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with prevailing sustainability frameworks, standards, reporting protocols, and certification procedures.
• Capability to formulate sustainability strategies, establish targets and KPIs, implement action plans, and oversee performance monitoring.
• Strong analytical proficiency to interpret sustainability data and develop practical, actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated project management, organizational, and problem-resolution skills.
• Excellent skills in communication and management of stakeholder relationships.
• Adeptness at working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, vendors, and external associates.
• Proficiency with sustainability reporting tools, data analysis software, and relevant business technology.
• Highly proactive, methodical, detail-focused, with a steadfast dedication to continuous enhancement and measurable sustainability results.
