About the Project
The Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV), combining the expertise of WeBuild, Clough, and Lane, is undertaking the design and construction of Snowy 2.0, a major pumped hydro scheme based in the Snowy Mountains, NSW. This is Australia's largest renewable energy initiative and aims to provide on-demand power and extensive storage for future generations, creating a lasting legacy in Australian infrastructure history.
Role Purpose
As a Surveyor reporting to the Senior Surveyor, you will support various surveying operations essential to the Snowy 2.0 project.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of tertiary qualifications such as an advanced diploma or higher in surveying and spatial sciences or a related field.
- Validity of a White Card.
- Preferably over 3 years of relevant experience within the construction industry, especially involving large-scale construction or similar projects.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in surveying software including AutoDesk, 12D Model, Leica Infinity, and Microsurvey Starnet.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian standards, regulations, and policies applicable to surveying.
- Ability to operate and interpret data from Ground Settlement Monitoring systems (both automatic and manual), and proficient reporting of findings.
- Understanding of Australian and International Standards concerning concrete and earthworks.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills to work efficiently with technical teams, site engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced organizational skills and computer literacy including Microsoft Office or similar suites.
- Safety-conscious with good housekeeping practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively to achieve expected outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
- Marking all lines and levels essential for consistent and precise construction work.
- Collecting and recording all as-built survey data in the correct formats.
- Ensuring accuracy and precision in all survey measurements and calculations.
- Providing accurate survey services to guide work location, layout, grades, and elevations as per design specifications.
- Performing survey activities aligned with the project work schedule.
- Working closely with tunneling and construction teams.
- Supporting the Senior Surveyor in coordinating with Design Management to align proposed changes with environmental and contractual requirements.
Terms & Conditions
This position is governed by Australian or New Zealand employment legislation. Work is performed in remote, challenging environments with severe cold conditions, which candidates must consider prior to applying.
