Overview
The Survey Programmer role involves designing, coding, and testing online market research surveys particularly within the life sciences sector. This position requires close collaboration with global client service teams to advise on best survey design practices while ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate surveys for quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to industry best practices.
- Provide accurate time estimates required for survey programming and testing phases.
- Determine survey length estimates to optimize respondent experience.
- Develop surveys using Decipher and internal proprietary platforms as needed.
- Integrate project team requirements into programming solutions effectively.
- Conduct thorough testing to verify logic, instruction accuracy, and survey flow.
- Contribute to and maintain programming templates and efficiencies aligned with Trinity's core methodologies.
- Develop and update programming best practices and standard operating procedures continuously.
- Innovate methods to reduce survey duration and respondent fatigue, enhancing engagement.
- Configure multilingual surveys for global projects.
- Manipulate data sets using SPSS, including respondent-level data rotation and merging patient-level data files.
- Create and provide training to staff on internal online testing protocols both for in-house and third-party surveys.
- Support quality assurance systems ensuring correct skip patterns, rotations, and logical flow.
- Design and follow rigorous data verification procedures to guarantee error-free data.
- Coordinate with external vendors on translation, language overlays, and sampling related to survey programming efforts.
- Mentor and educate team members and new hires on programming and related technologies.
Candidate Qualifications

- Familiarity with JavaScript and jQuery for survey enhancement.
- Flexibility to work alternative shifts, preferably aligned with Eastern Standard Time zones.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional background: Minimum of 5 years in programming surveys using Decipher or comparable market research platforms such as Confirmit or Qualtrics, ideally with a healthcare and life sciences emphasis.
- Additional technical skills including Microsoft Office, HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, SPSS, Sawtooth, iframe navigation, and commercial survey programming platforms.
- Experience with AI tools like Perplexity, Microsoft Co-Pilot, and Claude AI is strongly preferred.
