Job description
About the Role
The Christian Broadcasting Association (CBA) has been creatively sharing the Christian faith across New Zealand’s mainstream media for over 50 years, reaching large audiences via radio, podcasts, social media, and various initiatives including Media Chaplaincy and scholarships. This role focuses on inspiring and supporting the next generation of supporters who believe in this mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with supporters through phone calls, personal visits, and relationship building with churches.
- Identify, inspire, and cultivate new supporters, encouraging financial contributions.
- Work with creative and digital teams to develop multi-channel campaigns involving direct mail, email, and social media.
- Use data insights to evaluate and improve fundraising strategies.
- Tell the CBA story effectively to motivate involvement and giving.
Candidate Profile
- Strong natural relationship-builder who enjoys engaging with people warmly and confidently, both on the phone and face-to-face.
- Comfortable asking for financial support without discomfort.
- Results-driven and motivated by achieving targets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Digitally proficient, especially in social media and online marketing.
- Highly organised, self-starting, and proactive.
- Analytical, interested in data to assess what works and identify new opportunities.
- Genuinely committed to CBA’s Christian mission, vision, and values.
Previous fundraising experience is advantageous but not essential. The role is open to those with backgrounds in sales, marketing, communications, business development or similar, and candidates with the right attitude and aptitude will be trained in fundraising.
Additional Information
- This position involves significant human interaction and offers a meaningful purpose supporting CBA’s work to share Christian faith creatively.
- The role is preferable full-time but may consider a four-day work week for a highly exceptional applicant.
- Work location is at CBA’s new studios and offices in Mt Eden, Auckland.
If interested, applicants are encouraged to submit a CV along with a personal statement explaining their interest and suitability for the role.
